56 Lacrosse
A youth development program initiative by The Cooper Lyles Foundation
Play Together. Grow Together. Play Like Coop.
56 Lacrosse is more than a lacrosse program. It’s an opportunity to build character, develop leadership, create lasting relationships, and make a difference in our community - one player, one teammate, and one act of kindness at a time.
Created in honor of Cooper Lyles, 56 Lacrosse carries forward the values he lived by: loyalty, determination, kindness, and a quiet commitment to the people around him.
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to play, grow, and belong. Through lacrosse, mentorship, teamwork, and service, we’re building a community where character comes first, everyone has a place, and the impact extends far beyond the field.

Our Philosophy: The 56 Way
At 56 Lacrosse, we believe the game is about more than what happens on the field. It’s about the relationships we build, the character we develop, and the people we become along the way.
Inspired by the legacy of Cooper Lyles, 56 Lacrosse is a character-driven, relationship-centered program committed to making lacrosse accessible to all youth. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to play, belong, be supported, and to discover what they are capable of becoming — regardless of their experience, ability, or financial circumstances.
Our purpose goes beyond teaching the fundamentals of lacrosse. Through positive coaching, teamwork, mentorship, and service to our community, we strive to help young people develop the confidence, integrity, perseverance, and compassion to succeed in all areas of life.
At 56 Lacrosse, success isn’t defined by goals scored, games won, or athletic ability. It’s reflected in how we treat others, how we respond to challenges, how we support our teammates, and how we show up for our community.
We play together. We grow together. And we carry Cooper’s legacy forward by choosing every day to Play Like Coop.
This is the 56 Way.

Character First: Who you are matters more than what you accomplish. We lead with integrity, respect, kindness, and accountability - on and off the field.
Everyone Belongs: Every child deserves to feel welcomed, valued, and supported. We strive to create an inclusive environment where players can learn, grow, and find their place on a team.
Team Over Self: We celebrate the assist as much as the goal, the encouragement as much as the victory, and the teammate who lifts others up. We succeed together.
Growth Through Grit: Progress takes effort, courage, patience, and perseverance. We embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and keep showing up for ourselves and one another.
Leave It Better: We strive to leave every team, field, relationship, and community better than we found it. We believe the way we show up for others is part of our legacy.
-
We want more kids to experience the confidence, connection, and joy that come from being part of a team.
56 Lacrosse is being developed with an emphasis on accessibility, skill development, positive coaching, and a welcoming environment for players of different experience levels - including those picking up a lacrosse stick for the very first time.
We believe a family’s financial circumstances should not be the reason a child misses the opportunity to play.
-
A program like 56 Lacrosse takes a community.
Whether you are a parent, coach, volunteer, local business, or supporter who believes every child deserves the opportunity to play, there is a place for you in our mission.

The 56 Access Fund & Scholarship Program
Through the support of our community, the 56 Access Fund will help reduce financial barriers to participation through assistance with registration and equipment access, based on available resources.
Our goal is to make the game more accessible while building a culture in which families, volunteers, and supporters come together to help every child have the opportunity to belong.
When we invest in our kids, we invest in our community.
We’re building something special, and we’d love for your family to be part of it.
