5/6 Day
The Why
5/6 isn’t just a date.
It’s Cooper’s number.
And it’s a reminder of the kind of life that continues to impact others.
Coop wasn’t the loudest person in the room. He didn’t chase attention or need the spotlight. He was a quiet leader — the kind who showed up early, worked hard, and treated people with respect. He led by example. He made his team better. He made people around him better.
That’s the legacy we are committed to carrying forward.
The Cooper Lyles Foundation Scholarships are character scholarships. They aren’t reserved for the “perfect” student or the one with the highest GPA. They are for the steady ones. The resilient ones. The ones who choose integrity when it’s inconvenient and show up when it matters most.
On 5/6 Day, we honor #56 by investing in student-athletes who embody what it truly means to Play Like Coop — on the field, in the classroom, and in their communities.
Because character lasts longer than stats.
And legacy lives in the lives you impact.
